The Mind Hoarding Release

I have quite a bit of knowledge to share, at least that's what my friends tell me. Not necessarily knowledge that benefits one's education or intelligence, but my own personal knowledge based on my interests. I want to share my thoughts. I want to share my passions. I personally believe this will help me relief some stress in my life as well.

So here it is: my first post.

My name is Ann, and I no, I am not a writer. In fact, I've been skeptical about starting this blog because of this fact. If I could, I would blog by recording my thoughts expressed out loud, but that just might be weird. If anything, I hope to become a decent writer by learning to express myself on this site.

Currently, I would say a few of my passions and interests include: art/design, music, architecture, business, food/cooking, culture, adventure, travel, festivals, fundraising, and missionary work.  I feel like this list doesn't do justice, but it'll do.

I am currently in Houston, Texas, as I just transferred back to the city from Lubbock, Texas, where I spent my first year and a half at Texas Tech University. I am currently working at a pipeline company in Downtown, Houston, 40 hours a week, while taking classes at night. I have a pretty tough weekly schedule, and I miss my friends from Tech like crazy, but I am accomplishing great things!

My motive behind my move this semester was to discover what I really want to do with my life. So far, I've learned one big thing: Life's too short to stress. When I first began college, my major was Occupational Therapy. At first, people were shocked as to why I chose some a random career choice - I told them, I wanted to help special needs children while incorporating my passion for art into an 'Art Therapy' form. I later realized following a tramatizing experience taking Human Physiology, that I didn't want to be a hands-on therapist, I prefer more of a business-routed career. Eventually this lead to my spark of interest in Architecture, which then lead to my short-lived interest in Engineering, which then lead to my circulation back to wanting to do just Business, now I'm taking on an interest in Oil and Gas Pre-Law. I am a nutcase, I know. But why can't we just try everything in our lifetime?!

I still have no answers for what my official major will be come summer, but I am getting there. Until then, I am doing what I can to stay focused and content.

On another note, cooking helps me relax, and you should try it out too! Last night, my friend Mary made a delish shrimp stirfry meal, and I'm up next to cook! I'm currently collaborating. Check out this chick's blog that I've recently taken an interest to: http://17andbaking.com/
